Tennesee Jed is a group of band that has an extremely musical and melodic soft, electric sound that draws liberally from various genres such as the blues, ballads, rock standards and even a dash of bluegrass, western, traditional folk and funk. They are an extremely experienced jam band in the style of the Grateful Dead and the Allman Brothers that covers the substantial improvisational and free form music enjoyed by lots of listeners.
The band plays seated and from sheet music and eventually generates a groove with most tunes that will make your toes to tap. Jed, the lead guitarist and male vocalist is a local physician, and claims to have been a guitar addict for over thirty years now. His wife, Nancy is the bass player and lead female vocalist. Kanu who plays rhythm guitar is also another regional physician. Tennessee Jed uses an electronic drummer and but has recently added Lance on percussion to fill in the reggae, calypso, and African sounds. This keeps nothing to compare with Jed, Nancy, Steve and Kanu for all the skills and talents they have.
Tennesee Jed is delightful and frequently telling stories of their songs. They have played in the Mercantile, CoffeEspress and Andrea's Restaurant approximately every six weeks that eventually have created fans and followers. This is great entertainment for all ages.
